Ranch Roasted Potatoes
Crispy ranch roasted potatoes cook up easily right in an air fryer or on a sheet pan in the oven. These savory, cheesy potatoes are the perfect side dish to go with chicken or pork.

I love to grab bags of baby red potatoes to make my favorite oven roasted mini potatoes and onions side dish, so the next natural step is to take that same method to make these totally delicious crispy ranch roasted potatoes!
A sprinkle of ranch seasoning and grated parmesan cheese are all you need to make golden brown crispy potatoes to pair with your favorite baked chicken or pork entree.
Why This is the Best Recipe
I love easy potato side dishes when I'm pulling together a busy night dinner. I think this is the best ranch roasted potatoes recipe because:
- Golden Brown and Crispy: The mix of olive oil and grated parmesan cheese give these potatoes the best texture.
- Quick and Easy: In just a few minutes you can stir together the potatoes and pop them in to cook.
- Yummy Even at Room Temperature: Even after I took the pictures of the final potatoes for this recipe, I found myself nibbling from the platter. The potatoes taste even more ranch-y and cheesy after they cool down a little. This makes them a fun option for a party appetizer, see my serving suggestions below!
Ingredients
This easy recipe only needs four simple ingredients:
- Potatoes: I used a mixed bag of red and white baby potatoes.
- Olive Oil
- Dry Ranch Seasoning: Do not try to use actual ranch dressing here, you want the dry seasoning packet or bulk ranch seasoning.
- Grated Parmesan Cheese
Season the Potatoes
To prep the potatoes should only take a minute or two!
I cut the baby potatoes into quarters, but just chop them so they are about 1-inch pieces. Add them to a mixing bowl with room to toss them.
Drizzle the olive oil over the top and toss to coat.
Then add the dry ranch seasoning and toss them again.
NOTE: If you like things a little bit spicy, you could also add a sprinkle of crushed red pepper flakes to the mix. A dash of cayenne pepper or hot sauce would work well, too.

When the potatoes are evenly seasoned with the ranch, then add the grated parmesan cheese and toss to coat.
The best way to cook the potatoes is in a single layer on a baking sheet in a rack-style air fryer or in the oven. You can cook them in a basket style air fryer but you'll need to work in batches so they can roast in a single layer like this:
Oven Cooking Instructions
Preheat the oven to 450ยฐF.
Spread the potatoes in a single layer on a baking sheet and roast them in the oven for 20 - 25 minutes.
The potatoes should be golden brown and fork tender.
Air Fryer Cooking Instructions
My Ninja Foodi air fryer allows me to air fry up to 450ยฐF so I followed the same method as roasting them in the oven and cooked them for 20 - 25 minutes.
If your air fryer only goes up to 400ยฐF, that's ok. You just may need a few more minutes for them to get golden brown and crispy.
It is essential that the potatoes roast in a single layer so if your air fryer is a basket style, you may have to cook them in batches.
Serving Suggestions
You can serve these yummy crispy potatoes as an easy side dish for any of your favorite meaty main dishes.
I think roasted potatoes go especially well with air fryer thin pork chops or an oven roasted pork tenderloin.
You could brush my baked boneless pork ribs with sweet and tangy BBQ sauce and serve them with the ranch potatoes on the side.
Or you can cook air fryer chicken breasts at the same time as you roast the potatoes for a super fast dinner in a pinch.

Ranch Roasted Potatoes
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 pounds red potatoes cut into 1-inch chunks
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons dry ranch seasoning
- 1/3 cup grated parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 450ยฐF. If you want to cook the potatoes in an air fryer, preheat it to 400ยฐF.
- Chop the potatoes into 1-inch sized pieces and add them to a large mixing bowl. Drizzle the olive oil over the top and toss to coat. Add the dry ranch seasoning to the bowl and toss to coat. Finally, add the grated parmesan to the bowl and toss to coat. It is best to do this in stages so that everything is evenly seasoned and the cheese sticks properly to the potato chunks.
- Spread the potatoes in a single layer on a large baking sheet. If you have a basket style air fryer, you may have to work in batches so that the potatoes cook evenly in a single layer.
- Bake the potatoes for 20 - 25 minutes. It helps to turn them with a spatula half way through cooking to prevent burning on the bottom.
