Peach Dumplings
Easy peach dumplings made with crescent rolls an soda are the ultimate shortcut dessert that feels totally homemade. Juicy peaches wrapped in buttery dough bake up golden and caramelized, perfect for a busy weeknight or last-minute entertaining.

As much as I love my Southern peach cobbler, sometimes we want a smaller treat that bakes up quickly.
These golden brown, caramelized peach dumplings just might be my family's new favorite. With a short list of easy ingredients, you can have this prepped for the oven in minutes.
Serve them warm with a spoonful of that buttery sweet sauce drizzled over the top and a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream for a decadent treat even on a busy weeknight.
My prep ahead tips make this a perfect party dessert to bake fresh and serve warm in a flash.
Why This is the Best Recipe
- Easy Pantry Ingredients: 1 fresh peach and a few thing you likely already have on hand in the fridge and pantry make this dessert quick to pull together at the last minute.
- Just Like Grandma's: This old-fashioned dessert tastes just like something your grandma would have baked.
- Year Round Deliciousness: As long as you can find a fresh peach, you're in business. In a pinch? A thawed frozen peach wedge would work, too.
Ingredients

This easy recipe only needs a handful of ingredients:
- Fresh Peach: A fresh peach works best in this recipe. If they aren't in season, you could thaw fresh peach slices overnight in the fridge before using.
- Crescent Roll Dough: I used a store bought tube for convenience but my homemade bread machine crescent roll dough would work if you want to make a double batch.
- Lemon-Lime Soda: 1 can would be enough. Sprite, 7-Up, or any store brand you prefer.
- Butter
- Sugar
- Cinnamon
- Flour

Prep the Peach Slices
Peel the peach and carefully slice it into 8 thick wedges. I ran my chef knife around the pit in circles and the slices simply fell away.

Roll out the crescent roll dough.
Working one triangle at a time, lay the peach along the wide edge and wrap it up in the dough, tucking the pointy tip underneath.
Prep the Sauce
Spray an 8x8-inch baking dish with cooking spray and line up your wrapped peaches in an even layer on the bottom.
Melt the butter and then stir in the sugar, cinnamon, and flour until smooth.

Pour the butter mixture over the top of each of the wrapped peaches.
Carefully and gently drizzle the lemon-lime soda in the open spaces between the peaches, not directly over the top. You wouldn't want to 'rinse' the butter mixture off.
Baking Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350°F.
Bake the peach dumplings for 35 - 40 minutes or until the tops are golden brown and the sauce is bubbling hot.

Make Ahead Tips
You can assemble the peach dumplings and pour the butter mixture over the top and store the dish in the fridge a few hours before baking.
Just pour the soda around the pan before you place it in the oven.
This is a great way to get the majority of the prep work done in advance so you can bake them warm and fresh just before serving.

Variations
- Pear Dumplings: Try using pear wedges instead of peaches.
- Apple Dumplings: For a cozy fall twist, try apple wedges and a dash of nutmeg in the butter mix.
Serving Suggestions

Serve the warm peach dumplings with dollops of whipped cream on top or a scoop of vanilla ice cream on the side.
I might have enjoyed the leftovers as a decadent breakfast the next morning, but shh. That's our secret.

📖 Recipe

Peach Dumplings
Ingredients
- 1 large peach
- 1 (8 oz) can of refrigerated crescent rolls
- 1 stick (8 tablespoons) butter melted
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 1/2 tablespoons flour
- 3/4 cup lemon-lime soda like Sprite or 7Up
Instructions Start Cooking
- Preheat the oven to 350°F. Grease an 8x8-inch baking dish with cooking spray and set aside.
- Peel the peach and slice it into 8 thick wedges.
- Unroll the crescent roll dough. Working one triangle at a time, lay a peach wedge on the wide end and wrap the crescent roll dough over it. Place it in the prepared baking dish with the pointy tip of crescent dough facing down. This gives the dumplings a pretty, smooth surface on top. Repeat with remaining peaches and dough.
- Stir together the melted butter, sugar, cinnamon, and flour in a small bowl until smooth. Drizzle it over the top of the peach dumplings.
- Carefully pour the soda in the spaces between each dumpling, not directly over the top. You don't want to "rinse" the buttery mixture from the surface.
- Bake the pan of dumplings for 35 - 40 minutes or until they are golden brown. Serve them warm with a dollop of whipped cream or scoop of vanilla ice cream.
