Maple Breakfast Sausage Pizza
This easy maple breakfast sausage pizza is a quick and satisfying protein-filled breakfast. Built on a store bought naan bread topped with browned sausage, melty cheese, and fresh veggies, it’s an easy brunch dish that comes together in 20 minutes or less.

Before the start of the school year, I swung through Trader Joe’s looking for all the easy, hearty breakfast options I could find for our busy school mornings.
I spotted the maple chicken breakfast sausage links and grabbed them. I’m a huge fan of flavored chicken sausages because they are so quick and easy to cook up.
They ended up working perfectly for this easy breakfast pizza recipe just by adding a few spare veggies and toppings from my fridge!
Why This is the Best Recipe
- Fast and Filling: When you need a heartier breakfast NOW, you can quickly assemble the pizzas for baking in the oven in minutes.
- Sweet and Savory Perfection: The sweet maple breakfast sausage links pair so well with just a pinch of crushed red pepper flakes for heat.
- Easy Crust: Using store bought naan for the crust means less baking time and les prep!
Ingredients

Your shopping list for this easy breakfast pizza includes these easy items:
- Maple Chicken Breakfast Sausage: I purchased the links from Trader Joe’s but this flavor is available by several brands and available at most grocery stores.
- Naan Bread: You can use any flatbread you prefer for the crust. I like how tender naan bakes in the oven but a pita or even a pizza dough would work just fine, too.
- Fresh Tomatoes: I used campari tomatoes because they were in season, but chopped cherry tomatoes or a diced full tomato would work just fine.
- Baby Spinach
- Shredded Mozzarella Cheese: You could use provolone cheese or shredded white cheddar if you prefer.
- Olive Oil
- Butter
- Crushed Red Pepper Flakes
- Salt and Pepper
NOTE: For a little dash more of flavor, I sprinkled some Great North maple garlic blend over the tops of our pizzas before baking. This is not essential, but this delicious spice blend is one I think you’ll love having in your pantry. I use it on roasted pork tenderloin all the time.

Brown the Sausage
You can brown the sausage up to 2 days in advance and keep it in an airtight container in the fridge.
However, you’ll also have time to brown them while the pizzas are doing their first bake in the oven. It’s up to you.
Slice the sausage links into 1/4-inch discs. Melt the butter in a medium skillet set over medium-high heat.
Add the sausages and cook until toasted and golden brown on both sides.

Assemble the Pizzas
When you’re ready to assemble the pizzas, lay the naan bread on a large rimmed baking sheet.
Brush the tops with olive oil.
Sprinkle the chopped spinach over the top.

Sprinkle the tomatoes over the spinach.
NOTE: My daughter and I tested sliced tomatoes vs. diced tomatoes. We each wanted them a different way. The diced tomatoes cooked easier and were nicer to bite into. That’s how I’ll pan to do this in the future.
Sprinkle the shredded cheese over the top.
Baking Instructions
Bake the pizzas for 10 – 12 minutes. During this time you can be browning the sausage for the top if you haven’t already prepped them in advance.
Take the pan from the oven, sprinkle the sliced sausages over the top and return the pan to the oven for an additional 2 – 3 minutes.

Sprinkle crushed red pepper flakes and a pinch of salt and pepper over the top and serve immediately.
Make Ahead Tips
You can make a DIY Meal Kit with the elements for the pizzas and serve this as a quick and easy dinner, too!
Simply prep:
- Dice the Tomatoes
- Chop the Spinach
- Slice and Brown the Sausage
Store everything in separate containers in the fridge for easy grab-and-bake assembly later.

Variations
- Swap the Cheese: You can use shredded cheddar, pepper jack, or provolone.
- Add a Fried Egg: The sausage would taste great with a fried egg or a sunny-side-up egg, too!
- Make it Meatless: You can substitute your favorite vegetarian-friendly plant based sausage.
Serving Suggestions

I made these maple breakfast sausage pizzas as a fun lunch for my daughter and I during the weekend and we both loved them.
It would be such an easy brunch dish to prep ahead for overnight guests! Everyone could assemble their individual pizzas and pop them into the oven on big pans.
If you happen to have my turkey breakfast sausage on hand, you could use sausage crumbles instead of the links.
Or skip the sausage and just serve sliced peppered bacon on the side!
