Ingredients
4peachespeeled and sliced into 8 thick wedges
1tablespoonfresh lemon juicefrom 1/2 a lemon
1/2teaspooncinnamon
1/4teaspoonnutmeg
1/4teaspoonkosher salt
4tablespoonsbutter
1/2cupbrown sugarpacked
1teaspoonvanilla
Instructions
Add the peach slices to a medium sized mixing bowl. Add the lemon juice, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Toss together to coat.
Add the butter and brown sugar to a large skillet set over medium-high heat. Stir the mixture frequently as the butter melts.
Pour in the seasoned peaches and stir occasionally. Bring the sauce to a bubble and then cook for about 6 minutes or until the sauce has thickened and the peaches are soft.
Add the vanilla extract and stir gently, cook for 1 more minute.
Serve warm as a sweet side dish or as a dessert topping over vanilla ice cream.
