This easy parmesan cream sauce takes just 10 minutes and is the perfect topping for an elegant egg brunch item, tossing with your favorite pasta, or drizzling over chicken or fish.

Ingredients
1tablespoonbutter
1tablespoonflour
1cupmilk
1/4tspsalt
2tablespoonsgrated parmesan
2tablespoonsminced fresh basil
Instructions
In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium-high heat.
Add the flour and whisk it into the butter. Cook for 2 - 3 minutes or until the mixture is golden and bubbly.
Drizzle in the milk while whisking the entire time. Cook for 5 minutes or until it has thickened.
Add the salt and parmesan and whisk them into the sauce. Taste and adjust seasonings as needed.
You can keep the sauce warm over low heat, whisking periodically, while you finish the rest of your meal. Stir in the fresh basil just before using to keep it from turning a dark color.
