Ingredients
1 1/2cupssugar
2tablespoonscinnamon
8 - 12sliceswhite bread
12 - 16tablespoonsbuttersoftened
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350°F. Place a large sheet pan near your working surface.
In a small mixing bowl, whisk together the sugar and cinnamon. Set aside.
Working one slice of bread at a time, generously spread the softened butter evenly over both sides of the bread. Sprinkle the cinnamon sugar over the top and gently spread it to coat the entire surface with a clean butter knife. Repeat on the other side.
Lay each sugared piece of bread on the baking sheet. Arrange them in a single layer, no pieces should overlap. If you need more space, use a second baking sheet.
Bake the toast for 8 - 10 minutes or until the butter has melted and the edges begin to brown.
To finish the crispy coating, place the sheetpan of toast under the broiler for just 1 minute or so to get the sugar bubbling hot. Watch carefully so it doesn't burn.
Repeat as needed with the remaining sheet pans of toast. Slice the toast on the diagonal and serve on a tray for your buffet.
