This sweet BBQ sauce is lighter in sugar than other recipes and naturally vegan and gluten free. It is the perfect topping for your favorite barbecue recipe.

Ingredients
1teaspooncanola oil
1/2onionfinely chopped
1 1/4cupketchup
1cupapple cider vinegar
1/4cupWorcestershire sauceor soy sauce if you need vegan substitute
2tablespoonsDijon mustard
1tablespoonfirmly packed brown sugar
Juice from 1/2 lemon
1tablespoonfresh cracked pepper
Instructions
In a medium sauce pan, heat the oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and cook until softened and translucent, about 5 minutes.
Add the remaining ingredients and bring to a bubble. Reduce the heat to medium-low and cook for 10 minutes to let the flavors meld.
Use immediately or store in the fridge for up to 3 months.
