This rustic French pear bread is subtly sweet, perfectly soft, and so easy to bake thanks to the bread machine. With just a few pantry staples and a can of pears, you get a bakery-style loaf that's perfect for breakfast, brunch, or a cozy afternoon snack.

Ingredients
1(15 oz) canned pear halvesdrained and mashed with a fork, should equal about 1 cup
1/3cupwater
1egg
4teaspoonshoney
4cups(548 g) bread flour
1teaspoonkosher salt
1/4teaspoonpepper
1 1/4teaspoonsactive dry yeast
Instructions
Drain the can of pears well and transfer the pear halves to a small bowl. Mash them thoroughly with a fork and then spoon them into a measuring cup. You should have about 1 cup.
Add the mashed pears to the bread machine pan fitted with the paddle attachment. Then add the remaining ingredients, in the order they are listed with the wet ingredients on the bottom and the dry ingredients on top.
Place the bread pan back in the bread machine. Select the BASIC/WHITE program and the 2-pound Bread setting. Adjust the color as desired, I used the Medium setting. Press START.
The 2-pound bread program will take about 3 hours and 45 minutes to complete. Transfer the baked bread to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
