1pounddeli roast beefsliced thin
12slicesprovolone cheese
1cupFrench fried onions
6tablespoonsbutter
1(1 oz) packet of au jus mixdivided
1teaspoonWorcestershire sauce
1teaspoondried thyme
3/4teaspoongarlic salt
1/2teaspoononion powder
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350°F.
Line a 9x13-inch baking pan with parchment paper and set aside.
Carefully place the entire package of Hawaiian rolls on a cutting board and use a serrated bread knife to slice the entire set in half, keeping the individual rolls connected on both the top and bottom. Set the bottom half in the baking pan.
Spread half of the provolone cheese evenly over the rolls. Then layer on the roast beef. Sprinkle the fried onions in an even layer. Finish the second half of cheese and then carefully place the top half of the buns on top.
Melt the butter in the microwave. Add just 1 tablespoon of the au jus powder. Then add the Worcestershire sauce, thyme, garlic salt, and onion powder. Stir it together.
Brush the butter mixture over the tops of the rolls with a pastry brush. Cover the top loosely with aluminum foil.
Bake the sliders covered in foil for the first 6 minutes. Then remove the foil and continue to bake for another 8 - 12 minutes or until they are golden brown with melty cheese and warmed through.
For the au jus dipping sauce, add the remaining powder to a small saucepan and whisk in 2 cups of cold water. Bring the mixture to a boil and simmer until it thickens.
To serve the french dip sliders, cut the sandwiches along the lines of the dinner rolls. Serve them on a platter with a cup of the au jus for dunking.
