Easy Bread Machine Dough {Shape + Bake in the Oven}

This easy bread machine dough takes care of the mixing, kneading, and first rise for you, giving you soft, workable homemade dough with very little hands-on effort. Shape it however your recipe calls for, and then bake it in the oven for that wonderful homemade bread texture and golden crust.

Ingredients
2/3cup(155 g) water
1tablespoon(14 g) buttersoftened
2cups+ 2 tablespoons (260 g) bread flour
1tablespoon(8 g) dry milk powder
1tablespoon(8 g) sugar
1/2teaspoon(2 g) kosher saltI use Morton's
1 1/4teaspoons(4 g) active dry yeast
Instructions
Add the ingredients in the order they are listed to the bread machine bread pan fitted with the paddle attachment. Start with the liquid ingredients on the bottom and then place the dry ingredients directly on top. Dig a shallow well in the center of the top of the flour and place the yeast there.
Place the bread pan in the bread machine and select the DOUGH program. Press start.
The dough program takes about 90 minutes to complete. Transfer the dough to a lightly floured work surface and roll, shape, and bake according to your final recipe.

Make Ahead Tips
You can gently punch the dough down and store it in a covered container in the fridge for up to 24 hours.I don't recommend making it in advance any farther than that, or the dough could potentially overproof in the fridge.You could also freeze the dough. Take it out of the bread machine, gently deflate it, coat it in oil, and put it in an airtight container for the freezer for up to 4 weeks.Let the dough thaw in the fridge overnight, and then shape and bake as desired.
