Would you like to read more FUN books in the new year than you have in ages?
The Peanut Blossom Book Club for Recovering Readers has been encouraging busy women to make the time to read for 8 years!
If reading used to be your passion but somewhere along the path of adulthood life got in the way, you're in the right place.
We are a group of 8,000+ amazing members who love to chat about books on Facebook and we want you to join us.
How Do I Pick the Books?
- Our group only reads FUN, light-hearted books.
- We avoid tear jerkers.
- We don't take our book picks too seriously, we believe reading is for pleasure.
- We read a wide variety of genres throughout the year: romance, historical fiction, magical realism, young adult, and mystery all make the rotation year after year.
- We look for a variety of voices in both authors and characters.
How To Join Our Book Club
1. Follow along on Facebook:
Every month, I post monthly discussion threads for each book inside our private Facebook book club. Join us here.
You'll discover our group is filled with kind, upbeat people who just love to share their new favorite reads.
We talk about all books, not just the official monthly picks. It's a great place to get new recommendations all year long.
2. Sign up for email updates:
Nothing is worse than having an exciting announcement and knowing that social media algorithms will filter and prevent me from getting the news to you. I don't want Facebook deciding what you see and what you don't.
When you sign up for my email newsletter, I will send you all the reminders you need for our book list all year long. I've got lots of goodies planned for 2022, you won't want to miss out.

The Official 2022 Book Club List
Here we go! This is the moment we've all been waiting for. . .
I'm thrilled to announce the complete line-up of book club picks for 2022.
I can't wait to read these with you in the coming year.
Genre: Women's Historical Fiction
Pages: 399
This book was recommended over and over again by our club members throughout the last few years.
Jojo Moyes is a repeat author to our book club, we read (and loved!) Me Before You in 2016 and I'm so excited to have her back on the official picks list this year.

Drama, Scandal, Romance!
I can't think of anything more fun to read during the month of Valentine's Day than a young adult book like American Royals.
This book came highly recommended by a ton of reviews on Amazon!

Genre: Multicultural & Interracial Romance
Pages: 442
A Bollywood spin on a Jane Austen novel? Yes, Please!
I'm always a sucker for a book that takes place in a chef's kitchen and this fun novel takes it another step farther with a reality cooking competition.
Genre: LGBTQ+ Family Life Fiction
Pages: 336
That cheerful yellow cover immediately caught my eye when this book started popping up as a top favorite read in our book club throughout the spring.
However it was the book's description on Amazon that really sold me: "A moving tribute to the power of love, patience, and family in even the most trying of times."
Genre: Friendship Fiction / Historical Fiction
Pages: 355
While I often choose a book for May that centers on themes of motherhood, this year I decided a book that centers on a powerful friendship between two women who set off on an adventure would be a fun twist.
I encourage you to grab a friend and invite her to join the book club with you this year!

Genre: Literary Sagas

After absolutely devouring two books by Taylor Jenkins Reid this past year, I jumped at the chance to include her on the new list.
Malibu Rising boasts an amazing number of reviews and based on how much I loved her other books, I'm sure it is well deserved.

Genre: Magical Realism
Pages: 329
I've had this book sitting on my to-read pile for ages and when I saw it popping up as a end-of-month favorite again and again this year, I knew it was finally time to add it to our book list.
Magical Realism is the genre that most often surprises new members and quickly becomes a new favorite. If you're unfamiliar, I strongly encourage you to give this a try!

Genre: Children's European Historical Fiction

Children's books are often overlooked on book club lists. Even if I didn't have kids of my own, I would enjoy picking up the occasional middle grade novel because the stories are often extremely enlightening.
This book came strongly recommended to me by several sources I trust. I thought it would be perfect timing for sharing a book you could read with your older children if you desire as the summer winds down and everyone prepares for back to school.

Genre: Women's Humorous Fiction
Pages: 387
The first in a series, this romantic comedy is all about a heroine leaping in to try new life experiences.
The start of fall and the changing of the seasons seemed like the perfect time to focus on setting new goals for life as we follow Chloe's adventures.
The reviews on Amazon tell me this is going to be a great read.
Genre: Domestic Thrillers
Pages: 304
Every Halloween season I try to include a gripping novel that has more adrenaline than the rest of our book line-up.
This year we're going to dive in on a psychological thriller that will keep us turning pages into the night.
But don't worry! It came recommended from members who claim to read "not-too-scary" picks!

As the year winds down and the holiday season arrives, extra cozy reads are exactly what is needed.
I'm SO excited to finally be able to pick up this adorable book from my to-read pile. It was gifted to me by a lovely reader during our always-popular holiday book exchange a couple years ago and I think it will be the perfect warm-hearted story to enjoy ahead of the holidays.

**NEW FOR 2022!**
For the First Time Ever I'm picking a 12th book for our book club line-up. Normally December is a "choose your own adventure" month but when I spotted this title I simply couldn't resist.
This is an Optional December read for anyone who wants an extra sweet book to finish their year.
Other Optional Picks
The annual December "reader's choice" month has been a tradition since the book club started. I believe it is important to give you space to choose something just for yourself. We always celebrate together with our popular Pay it Forward Book Exchange on Facebook, too.
If you don't want to read the December pick from my list, here are some alternative ideas to inspire you:
