I've hinted around that the last month has been tough on our family. I didn't come outright with why because I don't like to admit to the internet at large when my baby and I are sitting home alone. But the end is in sight, so I feel alright in telling you that Handyman Tim has been on the road for work since October 11.
The last 4 and half weeks have been very difficult being apart for all three of us. Coping has taken many forms but Tim's method of choice is definitely music. When things are bleak, he likes to sing snippets of songs with lyrics especially appropriate to our situation. Some of them make me laugh and some make me cry with their on-the-mark appropriateness.
So this week's playlist is in honor of my Tim. These are songs he has chosen for us over the years, ones that he turns to when we have to be separated. Some are new to this trip in particular, some old standbys.
I am very much looking forward to next week's playlist when I can share some happier tunes with you. Hopefully we'll all be in a better place by then.

It's not even 7am and I've had my cry for the day!
Two weeks after Brent was born, John had to go to Texas for 7 weeks for a training thing. We were new to the area and 3.5 hours away from family or friends... it was horrendous. And I had the post-pregnancy hormones trying to balance themselves out, much like your early pregnancy hormones! So I kind of know how you're feeling. But at least Brent was so little he didn't MISS John, so MY feelings were all I had to deal with. My heart breaks for poor Sophie, who must be missing Daddy like crazy! Hugs to all of you 🙂

Thank God for Tuesday Tunes, even if it's an emotional collection. My hubby had to travel for months at a time with his last job. Through my tears, he'd sing Buble's "Home" as his phone sign-off. Hang in there, and know that there are friends supporting you from afar!
