The dirty side of Christmas photos

I love having Little Pea in our family. Two little girls are a dream come true for me in so many ways. There is just one thing I have found to be overly daunting about having two kids. . . taking pictures of them together. I've tried three separate photo sessions to attempt to get our annual Christmas card photo. They have been a failure, until now.

It took the realisation that I needed more than begging and pleading with the Peanut to look at the camera. I had to pull out the big guns. I had to bribe harder than I've ever bribed before.

"Mommy will bake you gingerbread cookies and hot cocoa if you promise to look at the camera and smile."

Hotcocoa

And so a new tradition has been born. I'm officially dubbing it the "Christmas Card Photo Cookie Party."

I will bring out the festive plates. I will serve sugary snacks and hot cocoa with a mountain of whipped cream. Next year when I'm more prepared, there might even be sprinkles involved.

Maybe just maybe with enough sugar to coat their tummies, my girls will forget the torture the photo session seems to cause them and remember only the treats. A girl can dream. . .
