I wish I knew who to give credit to for this photo that pretty much sums it up for me this weekend. Has it really been 14 years since the Harry Potter phenomenon started?! I didn't get hooked until Book 3 hit the shelves and then had to suffer along with the rest of the world in the painful waits for the rest of the series to be slowly released.
I still remember spending a holiday weekend with Handyman Tim in New York City when Book 5 debuted. Instead of seeing the city sights, I made him stand in line with me at the nearest bookstore so I could grab my copy. I spent the night in the hotel room glued to the pages while Tim rolled his eyes but let me be. That's love right there, ladies.
My girls are far too little to be introduced to these wonderful books. Part of me is really sad that they will never experience the hype the movies and book releases brought. I really look forward to the day I can bring my hardcover collection down off the shelf and share it with them.
I'd love to make their future completion of the books and viewings of the movies as special as the lucky kids of today have had. There are so many wonderful recipes and crafts out there. I've seen more than one friend on Facebook announcing butter beer for dinner. So to help remember that when the time comes for us, I created a little pinboard on Pinterest and grabbed some of the super cute ideas roaming round the webs.
You can check out my quickly gathered Harry Potter board here. If you've seen anything cute I should add, feel free to let me know!
I hope this final weekend of big time Harry Potter mania finds a little magic in your lives.
