Got a kid that doesn’t like bananas?? This delicious cherry smoothie is packed with almonds for protein to help kids stay full longer. This recipe originally appeared in The Protein Smoothie Bible: a fantastic resource for delicious smoothies for kids!
- 1/2 cup almond milk
- 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt
- 1 medium apple, peeled and cored
- 1/4 cup whole, raw almonds
- 1/2 cup frozen cherries
For best results, choose a sweeter variety of apple like Fuji, Red Delicious, Pink Lady, or Honey Crisp. Add all ingredients into blender, and blend until smooth. Enjoy right away while cold.
Note from Tiffany: If your blender can’t handle chopping up the almonds and keeping the smoothie smooth, try substituting 2 tbsp of almond butter for the almonds.
