For week 17 I took the girls to the Chicago Botanic Gardens. I was hoping to capture a decent portrait of the Peanut amongst the flowers for her 4 year old milestone photo but it was too windy and she was too excited to run free along the paths. Instead, we just enjoyed some much needed fresh air and a stroll amongst the barely budding trees and plants. I managed to capture this gorgeous pink blooming tree, I just love the colors!
And for the most part, this is the view of the Peanut I saw that day:
I'm trying to make a mental note to capture more real life/less posed pictures of the girls. I'm hoping that will get easier as we get outside more in the coming months.
That goal got shoved to the side during week 18, however. With Little Pea's first birthday and a nice sunny day where we finally got to attempt the Peanut's 4 year portrait:
A rainbow lollipop to match her rainbow party. I got some sweeter smiles out of her during this session but I just love this real authentic giggle I managed to capture. We were playing peek-a-boo with her candy. Silly girl.
And finally, the Birthday Girl of the week:
I have a sweeter pose for her milestone frame taken on her birthday, but this one "takes the cake" because of that signature sour puss look. Oh Little Pea, why so cranky?
A cupcake seemed to have cheered her right up. My lady loves frosting:
