Once we decided on our theme of "A Magical Day in the Parks," we knew just how to personalize our party and brainstormed ways we could give everything our personal touch and truly show our Disney Side. We had a great time reminiscing about our vacation last year and everyone shared their favorite thing:
Tim: Immediately suggested we designate the kitchen as EPCOT because we love to eat in the World Showcase and we're both addicted to the pineapple Dole Whips spiked with rum from the Flower and Garden Show.
Me: Our photos and pin trading!
The Peanut: Eating the Mickey shaped rice crispy treats & ice cream bars.
Little Pea: Visiting with the characters and meeting Buzz Lightyear & Cinderella.
How to personalize a party:
First, I found a cute template for an evite over on Paperless Post that allows you to upload your own photo. I knew exactly which picture I wanted to use:
I planned ahead and printed out some of our favorite photos from the trip to display around the party. My favorites are the ones of the girls eating their favorite treats that I lined up on the buffet in our Change of Art frames:
I found this adorable sign from One Swell Studio on Etsy and knew it would be perfect decor. The "Smile from Ear to Ear" reminds me so much of how we feel during vacation but also was perfect for setting the tone for our photo booth:
To give the guests a taste of what Disney Pin Trading is like, I followed my own advice and bought a pack of pins from Ebay. Each child was given two pins and their choice of lanyard that I found for 99 cents at Party City:
It was adorable watching them trade amongst themselves and now they have a couple to add to their own stash for their first trip to the parks!
Be sure to check back this week and see how we put Tim and Little Pea's touches into the party! They were some of my favorite details of all! I can't wait to share.
Party Supply Sources:
I was supplied a Disney Side Celebration hostess kit to help with this event. Are you interested in hosting your own Disney party? Check out their details here.
