As I mentioned last week, Little Pea's nursery is finally in progress. After 2 months of stress and a nearly constant twitching eye, the moment Handyman Tim cleared my office and my dad came to start the new paint job my eye stopped twitching. I knew it bothered me that we didn't have room for the baby, but I didn't realize quite how much until I finally started sleeping easier and my eyes felt rested. Ah, the physical signs of stress. Crazy what it does to a body.
Picking the paint color was a little overwhelming. Do you have any idea how many shades of egg shell blue there are out there? Thank goodness for handy neighbors willing to come over and humor a pregnant lady. My friend Kim has a great eye and within 5 minutes had picked just the right blue from a stack of 50 paint chips. (Aegean Blue by Martha Stewart for Home Depot for anyone who's wondering.) I was nervous as it went up on the wall, but I'm totally in love with it now that the job is finished.
Of course the Peanut had to get in on the action, too. I think she has a solid future as Handygirl Peanut.
Tim and the Peanut after assembling the crib. The furniture is placed in the room and I've spent the last week debating between 3 different area rugs (who'd ever think that would end up being the tricky part!) We need to transfer the Peanut to her big girl bed so we can snag her crib mattress and bedding for the nursery.
Now my big challenge is what to do with that wall behind the crib. I have things to hang on the walls in the other part of the room, but nothing seems to fit right above the crib. I'm hesitant to hang any kind of item that could be grabbed and pulled down, so some kind of wall decal seems like it would work. I guess it's back to Etsy for me.
I'll post a final picture once I've got the last items in place. Just wanted to share the gorgeous paint job!
