It started to happen without me actually realizing it. I looked around my studio today and realized--I've started a stash! Well, I guess I should clarify and say a stash of sorts. My little fabric piles all have intended uses so far, but I'm starting to see how someone could fall in love with a particular fabric and purchase a bit of it without actual project purpose.
Case in point, this enchanting fabric from Wonderland by Momo for Moda:
I bought these two yards of fabric about 5 months ago. I chose them with one purpose in mind and then kept changing my mind on how I actually wanted to use them. First they were going to be a tote bag, then borders for a baby quilt, but I think I might have found their final purpose:
I received this pattern from my mom (and dad) for my birthday a couple weeks ago. I actually think the fabric is so whimsical it will make a fantastic carryall.
But honestly? I'm just so in love with that chocolate brown and aqua polka dot pattern (I actually have another 1.5 yard of it waiting in the wings for something else) and that perky floral that I want to showcase them on something where you can see nice large swatches. I just don't have the heart to cut them into smaller strips or squares.
Now I just need to find the courage to cut into them at all. I'll be happy to have my bag but I'll be sad to not see them on top of my little fabric pile. Guess that gives me an excuse to go shopping, with my new bag in tow.

I love, love, love the material. Will you make "the peanut" a smaller version as well?

Sadly, I don't think I'll have enough fabric for a second one. I should have bought more than a yard!
