Inspiration Challenge for February

Finding my inspirational shot for January was much trickier than expected. As much as I envisioned a clean slate of snow, the weather just didn't cooperate much! Sunny warm day after sunny warm day and I finally realized I needed to go in another direction!

My image for the Fresh January challenge  is our happy cardinals visiting their new home. I started my Project 52 with the bird feeder my husband hung before he left for a major work project. We waited a full two weeks for our birdie friends to finally figure out we had left treats hanging for them and now we have 10+ birds divebombing the house at any given moment. They are such a symbol of happiness to me and represent the perfect fresh start to the year I intended to capture.

I'll be continuing to share more Fresh photos in the coming weeks, you all did a fantastic job with the assignment. There were 413 submissions in our group for this particular challenge and if you'd like to browse through them, you'll find them here.

For February's inspiration challenge, I've chosen the word: Cherish. This is the month of Valentine's Day and I purposely did not want to chose "Love" but I did want something that infers affection. To me, "Cherish" implies something you hold very dear and have an immense amount of gratitude for, something you've been blessed to have in your life.

Although it could quite easily be a person you choose to capture this month, I can also think of several other things I cherish in my life: my home, our dog, my quiet "me time". Please interpret that word however you see fit. Just as with "Fresh", there is no right or wrong way to illustrate that word.

The Cherish challenge will run until the end of February. Please be sure to tag your submissions with: #cherishdevelop so that I am able to find them within our group project. I can't wait to see what you come up with!

That's a great photo, Tiff...a very sweet bird feeder..and a wonderful capture of those birds...I am sure they requiredgreat patience to get them not twittering and moving around it! I love the cardinal...have never seen one in real life....I think I have a book called The Song of the Cardinal...somewhere!...it's very old! Looking forward to the February challenge.

I like the inspiration word, 'cherish' for this month. I've been just shooting random photos but I think I'm going to use your challenge. Thanks for the idea!

OK, I'd like to TRY to participate ... thanks for this fresh inspiration and new idea for me. I'm a writer so this will be a stretch for me but I like to push myself to the edge. Looking forward to it.
