Inspiration challenge: April

Stinky dinner failure. Lighting a little piña colada for coverage.

I'm sorry this post is coming a few days late. The end of March was filled with more than normal chaos. I'll be catching up this week with our "Intentional" photos from last month but it's time to share the word for April!

On March 29, a sweet high school friend of mine lost her battle with cancer at age 35. She leaves behind a husband and two very small children and a family who adored her. She touched the lives of countless people including my own. I've been struggling for days to make peace with this horribly unfair circumstance and my heart has been so heavy for her loved ones.

With Easter coming this week and spring in full force, I had already considered going this route with my April word, but the comforting words her priest shared are what truly inspired me: "Do not think of her life as ended, think of it as changed."

So in honor of my friend's memory, I've decided the word for April is: Renewal

In April I will be on the look out for signs of life in renewal. Out of the dark days of winter comes the bloom and growth of spring. Such a fitting season to honor the memory of such a special woman.

I look forward to seeing your images from this challenge. I know they will bring me comfort and hopefully they will remind us all how precious life truly is.

What a great word and so timely in my life, too. We had a student pass away in a car accident on April 2nd. (I teach high school). She was an amazing young lady and my heart just breaks for her family. Thank you!
