Yesterday was Handyman Tim's birthday. In the almost 10 years we've been married, he has always asked for a homemade cake or dessert for his birthday. This year, however, he shocked me with the request for a rocket ship cake from our favorite bakery where I've gotten the Peanut's cakes. I might be somewhat talented in baking, but I just don't do cake decorating. We knew to go to the pros for this.
Do you know what kind of funny glances you'll get from the bakers when they find out this is for a husband's birthday and not for a son's? That alone might have been worth the effort to get the rocket ship cake.
The Peanut was over the moon (pun intended) about Daddy's special cake. We went one step further and picked up some Buzz Lightyear party napkins, balloons, and plates. It is pretty hard to be depressed about getting older when you have a rocket ship themed birthday. I'd highly recommend it.
