Evernote: your very own mind-blowing digital clippings binder

Did you ever tear a page out of a magazine or newspaper with the intent to save that idea or information for future reference? Did you ever make a fancy little binder to hold all your clippings in one spot? Maybe  just even a file folder? Do you ever actually look in that binder or file folder?

I've done it. I have a folder 2 inches thick with recipes, articles, cleaning tips, gardening ideas, and I swear I never look in it. I always have the good intentions but honestly what a horrible way to organize the information! Now add in the dozens of blogs I follow. They all offer awesome craft ideas, parenting tips, bits of inspiration I'd love to hang on to but had no idea how to organize and save until now!

A friend tipped me onto Evernote.com I haven't had time to check it out until this weekend but once I really dug around on the site and discovered it's potential, I nearly started hyperventilating over the possibilities.

I installed the free software to my Mac, downloaded the iPhone app, and installed the browser button clipper thing. Now, whenever I see any kind of cool information anywhere online, I can highlight the info (including pictures) and click that browser button and the information is automatically stored as a note in my Evernote account.

Those notes are now accessible on my phone, on my desktop, through a browser if I'm at a different computer. Basically, anywhere I am!

I'm doing probably the worst job ever of describing all the awesome things Evernote is capable of, I think you need to check it out to get the full effect:

I want to be an "Awesomeness Machine"!

I've been using Evernote for 3 days and already my little online notebooks are filling up. I absolutely adore the idea of a centralized hub for all my crazy bits of inspiration. This also makes me love my little iPhone even more. (But, they are available for different formats, this isn't just a Mac thing.)

This was just too cool to keep to myself. I hope you find it as useful as I do!

I've installed it on my iPhone. Now I'm downloading it on my PC. Can't wait to REALLY start using it!!! I must-must-must get deeper into it.
