Oh sad Little Pea, what's wrong? Crocodile tears, runny nose, why has mommy abandoned you to grab her camera and document your woe?
Because this is priceless. THIS is what my little girl looks like at least once a day. Don't most toddlers?
But now that the Peanut is 4.5 years old, I can say with certainty, this phase will not last forever. Little Pea is sad because she bumped her head on a cushion. She's bumped her head on that same spot countless other times, but this time it was personal. And 30 seconds from this shot? She's smiling again. I swear it.
But those big fat wet tears on her cheek and the look of sheer indignation was just too much for me to let go without photographing.
And as I loaded this onto my computer, I was reminded of the Peanut's cranky portrait I posted last year. Both of these photos are so real to me in a way that many of the smiley happy posed pictures are not. This is what life is like in the down and dirty day to day living. I know I'm going to want to remember that.
