The nursery is coming along but after our big push the other week it has slowed down a little while we focus on the basement and playroom projects again. I haven't been ready to share photos of the finished room because it is still missing several key elements (some furniture pieces and all the decorative stuff.)
Over the weekend, the peanut and I dug in on one of the easier decorating tasks: adding the butterflies to little pea's ceiling fan.
Two of these butterflies are part of the peanut's room, they hang on her ceiling fan and when she was just a tiny baby she loved to watch them slowly spin around her room. I took her on a butterfly expedition to the Land of Nod and let her pick out 2 more butterflies for the baby's room so that the girls will "match", apparently a very big deal to my peanut.
Part of my spring cleaning meant taking the peanut's butterflies down for a wash and in the process they needed to be fixed up a little bit before mounting. All I needed was a hot glue gun and some laundry pins:
Just glue the clip to the butterfly body, press, and let dry. That's it! Then find your friendly neighborhood very tall guy (Handyman Tim in my instance) and clip them to the blades of your nearest ceiling fan:
Turn the fan on the lowest setting (too fast and the butterflies will literally fly off) and be prepared for plenty of giggles from the nearest wee one.
I'm also thrilled that the lamp I had ordered for the nursery finally arrived this week as well. I love that it matches our birdie theme but will still be pretty enough in an older girl's room down the road:
I'm such a sucker for anything that looks distressed. I thought the white body would look nice against her bright blue room, so happy how it turned out!
