I buckled under the pressure and broke into my little fabric stash rather than carry on with my Christmas works-in-progress. I needed a little change of pace to lighten my mood as we were blast with inches and inches of snow last week.
I'm going to go with reader Carrie's suggestion that it wasn't "really" breaking my resolution, rather just moving forward on cleaning up my studio! By using up what I have, I'm clearing space, right?? Sure. . .
Two little matching table runners are in progress. I'm hoping to have them on the table in the next couple of days. I also find I have a fresh love for Fig Tree & Co. fabrics. I'm working with a mix of Mill House Inn and Patisserie charm packs. I picked out only the pinky, peachy, creamy, and chocolatey squares for a little Valentine's day type theme. It was especially hard to leave out the aqua, but I'm saving those for another day.
If you've never visited Joanna's blog, take a second to stop by and you'll see why I get so inspired by her. All of her fabrics were developed after her trips to Paris. I'd love to walk in her shoes for a year. I'd also love just a small sample of the treats that must have inspired Patisserie!
Where oh where is my chocolate croissant?!
