A Gleeful Tuesday

For the month of November, I'm claiming every Tuesday for Tunes. I'm not sure what kind of mixed bag of playlists I'll be sharing yet, but to kick start this little project I decided to give you an earful of my latest obsession: Glee. Is anyone else as preoccupied with this Fox hit as I am?

As I mentioned last week, October was a very stressful month for our family. When I'm down and upset, the surest music to cheer me up is . . . good old fashioned Showtunes. God help me, I'm a total theater geek. At one point during my high school career I could actually recite every lyric from Les Miserables.

So when this show about a rag tag group of social rejects in a high school glee club got my attention, there was no turning back. They don't stick to showtunes exclusively on the show (which makes it all the more interesting, in my opinion) but some of my favorites have popped in:  "On My Own," "I Could Have Danced All Night," and an upcoming episode will feature "Defying Gravity".

My playlist below doesn't feature any of my beloved showtunes, I just couldn't torture you that far. Instead I went with the upbeat pop hits that have been on rotation the last couple weeks on my iPod. I dare you to not crack a smile at least once if you listen the whole way through.

I wish I would have video recorded the peanut's reaction to the first song on the list. Let's just say there was frantic arm waving and booty shaking. Poor kid, I think she's bound to follow in my musical footsteps. Hopefully there will at least be a bounce in her step along the way.

Wow, holy cats is this a neat feature! I have it playing now while I work. Music Geek. Tech Geek. Love it, perfect combo.
    PS: Quilt Geek. Food Geek.

It's Wednesday... the day after... and I'm already missing Tuesday Tunes. Can't wait for the 10th to roll around. Guess I'll have to jam with the GLEE goodies for 6 more days.

Hooray for the fact that these playlists remain weeks later! I've listened to 11/10 mix three times through, so I decided to get a GLEE fix here before tomorrow's new episode!
