This is coming far too late, but I'm finally ready to share my 2010 "Day in the Life of" Project with you.
Beverage service for the ladies of the house.
In my mind, I was going to be able to do the project, edit and post my photos all before delivering Little Pea. It was going to be nice and neat and organized on my end. Little Pea had other ideas. Struggling to get this finished has been a stress hanging over my head for a couple weeks, I'm so glad to finally be here.
I have 51 photos in my project. Far fewer amount than previous years but considering I spent half the day on Vicodin and was hobbling around with a newly applied c-section scar, I'll cut myself a big heaping of slack. The lighting on my chosen day was absolutely horrendous. Almost every daytime photo needed to be edited for color temperature (they were all far too yellow) and the evening ones were generally so horrible I just turned them to black and white knowing no amount of color editing would save them.
In the end, I actually love the effect of the color and black and white photos. This project is definitely not my best work, but I look at the photos from that crazy day and think about the fact that I managed to capture the one and only "normal" day we had together as a family before I was readmitted to the hospital the next afternoon. That big event has been followed by countless doctor visits and additional stress. I managed to catch our one relatively peaceful day and I'm happy to have it on record.
I'm also hoping that next year's project will capture a much calmer family. I'm really looking forward to (hopefully) seeing the contrast.
These are my final thoughts on my project this year, how did you feel about yours? I'd love to see your comments.
