Today we're celebrating 10 years of wedded bliss. I always laugh when I hear that phrase because anyone who has actually been married would understand that "bliss" isn't always the first word that comes to mind. In our 10 years we've had our fair share of ups and downs and we make a really big effort to always be working on our marriage.
It may not always be easy, but it is always worth it. I love sharing my life with Tim and I look forward to working towards our next 10 years together. Last year I posted a pretty great snapshot of what our lives have looked like in these 10 years (not too much has changed since year 9) along with my favorite photo from our wedding day.
This year is Tim's turn. I once asked him what his favorite photo from our wedding was and was surprised by his answer. We have several beautiful, colorful, bright and happy photos from the day but he chose the one featured above--our first kiss at the church. This is Tim's favorite because it is the moment "we sealed the deal." Such a quiet romantic I have on my hands.
To mark the special occasion, we are celebrating in a way I never expected. The pre-kids, pre-marriage Tiffany always imagined some big blow-out trip to celebrate 10 years: Hawaii, some beachy island getaway. Instead, we're going to be having ice cream sundaes with our two precious girls tonight and then this weekend we're heading back to where it all started for a little walk down memory lane, literally. We're going back to where we met, where Tim proposed, and we're going to stroll down State Street and the lakeshore path in one of the best towns in the Midwest.
I can't think of a better way to celebrate and I can't think of anyone else I'd rather be with on that walk. I love you my Handyman Tim. Here's to the next 10 years and more.
